Dance Studios

Synchronized joy.

It’s one thing to dance in your room at home. It’s another to dance in a studio space with floor to ceiling mirrors and a music filled room.

Dance studios host an array of classes for beginners all the way up to experts. You can follow step by step choreography or learn styles that you can then make your own.

Best of all, it’s with people that love dance. Watch how they dance, chat with them, and even dance with them!

A space to bring dancers together.

Dance studios are created by dancers. And how they are set up reflects that. Check out how Modega is laid out!

Entrance - No flashing lights or big sign screaming dance studio. Instead, you’ll typically find a small sign with the name of the studio. You can enter! Most dance studios are open mid-afternoon until late at night.

Lobby - A comfortable entrance area where you check-in for your class, studio sessions, or event. If you’re a little early, there are chairs and couches for you to sit on while you wait. Feel free to chat with others hanging out! Water bottles and merch are available for purchase as well.

Studio A - Dance studios have a main room, usually their largest, where they host their biggest classes and events. Floor to ceiling mirrors and cubbies for you to put your stuff in.

Modega is unique in having RGB lighting and cushioned flooring that is helpful for street style dancing. It’s easier on the legs and knees.

Studio B - An additional studio space. These are for smaller classes, usually more niche dance styles. Dance teams, local schools, and other groups also rent these smaller spaces for their own practices and uses.

Classes

  • One song. One set of movements. These types of classes are lead by a teacher who guides you step-by-step to dance to a single song under a single style.

Everybody learns the same set. You can ask all the questions and get one-on-one help.

At the end, everybody dances all together. And 20 synchronized dancers looks as cool as you think.

Each class is typically 90 minutes.

  • Hip hop. Modern. Swing. Ballroom. There are so many styles of dance. And some may peak your interests more than others.

Dance studios often specialize in a few and you can take classes on those styles! These are introductory classes that teach you the fundamentals as well as the cultural history behind the moves.

Events

  • Open space, open rules. Come to the studio to dance your heart out and chat with others that came to do the same. No choreography to do, no specific style to bring. Just good vibes.

  • Want to experience dancers going all out? Battles are dance competitions where individuals come out to show out.

Many battles are specific styles — breakdance battles for example. There are open style ones as well. Also, they come in all skill levels.

Check out the next battle! You can battle yourself or simply watch. The energy and fun is something you have to experience yourself.

Private Sessions

  • Want to practice with a bunch friends? Dance studios offer rentals where you can book a room for a set amount of time.

Enjoy all the perks of a dance studio space on your schedule.

  • If you’d like a more intimate experience, dance studios offer one-on-one sessions with teachers.

Just reach out and let them know what you’re looking to learn and what type of student you are and they will do their best to set it up!

More about dance classes.

A dance class is a mysterious experience if you’ve never done it before. Also, being told to just try it doesn’t really help. Don’t worry, check out this video where Katrina walks you through a choreograph class looks like from the moment you walk in.
