Boxing Gyms

A space to grow,
a community to join

Boxing gyms have existed for centuries as hubs for aspiring fighters and fitness enthusiasts.

They’re built on the basics as result. Punching bags of all types, boxing rings, and weights. No fancy electronics to distract you.

There are boxing gyms designed to help you become a fighter and learn the art of boxing. Others cater towards physical fitness. Ultimately, every boxing gym is built on one idea: helping you become the best person you can.

Classes

  • Boxing is a skill like anything. Nobody starts out knowing how to box.

The best way to get started is to take a class. You'll be lead by an experience boxer that will introduce to you the techniques you'll need. Anybody can take these classes, they have as beginner as it gets.

    Be ready to sweat!

  • While you don't have to spar another person, it's the main part of boxing. Just going at a punching bag forever is more physical fitness than it is boxing.

Most boxing gyms will gear you towards eventually hopping into a ring with somebody of your skill level.

And it's very safe. Trainers and boxers take sparring safety extremely serious. They always have at least one coach watching and monitoring the sparring. Proper headgear is worn. Breaking any of the precautions or boxing ring etiquette is grounds for real consequences -- even banning from the boxing gym.

Yeah, you're here throw punches but boxing is ultimately about discipline, growth, and community.

Community Events

  • Boxing gyms have historically been cultural hubs.

And that history continues to this day.

Boxing gyms host community events, whether it's a simple local gathering or showmatch. Check out your local boxing gym and see what they have coming up.

Bouts & Competition

  • The ultimate moment for boxing is in that ring fighting a real fight.

This means a sanctioned fight under the American Boxing Association. You can train and enter an amateur fight, your boxing gym will certainly help and guide you along the way. That's their mission as well.

These fights happens all the time and you can go spectate if you just want to get a feel for it. The energy is vibrant and there's nothing like being in a huge hall of boxers watching boxing live.

Get active.
Fight against others.

Front Desk - Check in here! If you’re here for a class, this is the first step to get your name down and let the team know you’re here. They also often offer water, wraps, and attire for purchase.

Weights - Like all gyms, there are weights for you to do strength training. You can warm up here or get some time in with a strength trainer.

Boxing Ring - It’s a boxing gym so there’s got to be a boxing ring. These are also used as general practice spaces alongside sparring. You don’t have to hop in to spar if you aren’t feeling ready. Plenty of punching bags around for you to use.

Bathrooms - You’ll find bathrooms or a locker room for you to store your stuff and to change. OutBox Gym is particular in having gender neutral bathrooms.
