Pool Halls
Master a game, compete against new friends.
Pool halls, also known as pool rooms, are the hub for all the cue games. Billiards, 8 ball, 9 ball, etc.
With the dozens of pool tables, it’s a vibrant place for first-timers, casuals, and competitors. You can check-in and pick up a pool stick and start playing. Soon you’ll find yourself amongst the regular players.
They also foster local and national tournaments. For fun and for prizes. Read more about pool halls below.
Bar / Lounge Area
-
A staple feature of many pool halls is the bar and lounge area.
You don’t even have to pick up a pool stick to relax and spend time here. Grab a drink, watch the game, or even order a bite.
Pool Tables
-
If you’re ready to play pool, stop by the “front desk” and ask for a table. Usually pool halls are paid by the hour, sometimes there’s a day pass.
They’ll hand you a set of balls and let you know what table to head to.
Then play as you like! If you’re alone and see other folks alone, you can ask them to play a round with you.
If you’re not sure how to play, you can ask for some help from the front or even somebody at a nearby table.
Tournaments & Events
-
With every game, there’s competition.
Most pool halls host some kind of local tournament. They could be a weekly amateur night or a monthly state tournament. When you stop by, you can ask the front what tournaments are coming up.
The bigger pool halls host international tournaments, recognized by the American Poolplayers Association.
Hangout after work.
Play against your friends.
